How does IDintake work?

Do I need to install anything?

No. IDintake is a web app that runs in any modern browser, so there's nothing to download or install. For one-tap access you can add your custom link to your device's home screen, and it will open just like a native app.

What's my custom form URL, and how do I share it with my team?

When you subscribe, you receive a custom form URL unique to your company (it's also shown in your dashboard). Share that link with the 2 collectors in your organization so they are working from the same form. Per our Terms of Service, your link is licensed to your company and should not be shared outside your organization. Also, our standard subscription includes up to 2 devices per account. If you need more than 2 devices please contact us so we can get you set up with a Teams account.

Can multiple collectors use the same link at once?

Not on a standard single subscription. Each plan is licensed for 2 devices to access the form at the same time. If you have multiple collectors who need to access the form at the same time, you'll need a team plan. Get in touch through the contact form and we'll help you set one up.

Question 5

Does it really work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After the first load, IDintake runs completely offline. All form data, photos, and signatures are processed locally on the device. You only need a connection the first time you open your custom link.

What happens if I lose signal mid-appointment?

Nothing is interrupted. Once the form has loaded, you can complete every step: details, photos, signature, and PDF generation, with no connection at all. Your data stays on the device the whole time, so a dropped signal won't cost you any work.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

IDintake works on any device with a modern web browser: smartphones (iOS and Android), tablets, laptops, and desktops, using Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. The layout adapts automatically to your screen size.

Can I use my laptop's webcam, or only a phone camera?

Either one. IDintake can capture photos from a laptop or desktop webcam just as easily as from a phone or tablet camera. You can also upload an existing photo from the device instead.

Where do the generated PDFs go?

PDFs are generated locally and downloaded straight to the device you're using. Nothing is uploaded to or stored on IDintake's servers. From there you can save, print, or email the file yourself.

Can I edit a form after generating the PDF?

The PDF is a finished document, so no, it can't be edited once it's generated. However, because the data is stored locally on your device, pressing the back button brings back the information you entered. You can then edit it and generate a new PDF.

What's the difference between Child (minor) and Child (Adult)?

"Child (minor)" is a participant under 18; minors are not required to present a government-issued photo ID. "Child (Adult)" is an adult child (18 or older) being tested as the child in the case, and they provide a valid photo ID just like any other adult participant.

Who signs for a minor?

For a participant under 18, a parent or legal guardian provides the signature and consent on the child's behalf.

Where is client data stored?

On the device only. Client details, photos, and signatures are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to or saved by IDintake. The information exists only in the PDF you generate and keep.

Is the signature legally valid?

Yes. IDintake captures the client's signature on-screen with lock-in verification and embeds it directly in the documented PDF record, consistent with accepted e-signature practices for chain-of-custody documentation.

How do you protect sensitive ID information?

Because client data never leaves the device, the most sensitive information is never transmitted or stored on our servers, eliminating it as a target. Your account itself is protected with encrypted credentials and SSL/TLS encryption.

How long is the free trial, and do I need a card to start?

The free trial is 14 days with full access to every feature. A credit or debit card is required to start, but you won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then.

How do I cancel, and do I keep access until the period ends?

You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period.
